2507 super duplex stainless mesh
2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Wire Mesh(UNS S32750 | EN 1.4410 | F53)with a balanced austenitic ferritic microstructure, but with higher concentrations of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen compared with 2205 duplex mesh. It features extremely high strength and superior corrosion resistance, designed for the harshest chloride‑containing, high‑pressure and marine environments.
Typical Chemical Composition:
Grade | Chromium (Cr) | Nickel (Ni) | Molybdenum (Mo) | Nitrogen (N) | Carbon (C) | Iron (Fe) |
2507 duplex | 24.0 – 26.0% | 6.0 – 8.0% | 3.0 – 5.0% | 0.24 – 0.32% | ≤ 0.03% | Balance |
Comparison: 2507 vs 2205 Grades
This comparison is critical for selecting the right material for extreme conditions.
Feature | 2507 (Super Duplex) | 2205 (Standard Duplex) |
PREN (Pitting Resistance) | > 41 | ~ 35 |
Yield Strength | > 550 MPa | ~ 450 MPa |
Chloride Tolerance | Extreme (hot seawater) | High (ambient seawater) |
Cost | High | Medium |
Best Use | Subsea, hot chlorides, extreme pressure | General marine, chemical processing |
Key Properties
· PREN ≥ 40 for excellent seawater and pitting resistance
· Yield strength ≈ 550 MPa – much higher than 2205 and 316L
· Outstanding resistance to: Chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC); Pitting corrosion; Crevice corrosion
· Slightly magnetic (ferrite phase)
· Recommended service temperature: -50°C ~ 315°C
· Avoid longterm exposure at 300–950°C (risk of embrittlement)
Typical Applications
· Offshore oil & gas: produced water, injection water filtration
· Deep-sea and coastal marine engineering
· Seawater desalination systems
· High-chloride chemical processing
· Flue gas desulfurization (FGD)
· High-pressure aggressive fluid filtration
Performance Comparison of the different stainless steel grade filter mesh:
· Corrosion resistance: 2507 > 2205 > 316L > 304
· Strength: 2507 > 2205 > 316L > 304
