Material Selection (Pure Nickel Ni200 / Ni201)

  • Grades: Typically corresponds to N6 (Chinese standard) or Ni200 / Ni201 (ASTM standard).

  • Characteristics: Pure nickel offers excellent corrosion resistance in strong alkalis (e.g., KOH solution) and good electrical conductivity. Hence, this mesh is widely used as the electrode coating substrate in alkaline water electrolysis (AWE).

  • Critical requirement: Always ask the supplier for a material test certificate to ensure nickel content ≥ 99.5%, and pay attention to carbon content – for high‑temperature applications, choose Ni201 (low carbon) to avoid embrittlement after annealing.
